American Solar Direct, one of California’s leading full-service residential solar providers, announced today that Business Intelligence Group has named the rooftop solar installer as one of the “2016 Best Places to Work.” American Solar Direct earned this exciting recognition in the inaugural year of this competition.

The 2016 Best Places to Work business awards program sought to identify organizations that are actively working to improve their performance by challenging employees in environments that make work fun and engaging. Researchers, including Gallup, have found that employee engagement is strongly connected to business outcomes essential to an organization’s financial success, such as productivity, profitability and customer engagement. Engaged employees tend to support the innovation, growth and revenue that their companies need.

“Inspiring the adoption of solar and delivering clean, affordable energy extends far beyond just a job for us. It is a lifelong passion that translates into hiring and developing great people and treating them well. Those employees then go above and beyond in providing superior service to our customers which leads to high customer satisfaction. To receive this honor validates our efforts to recruit, develop and retain top talent,” said Scott Gordon, Chief Sales Officer at American Solar Direct.

With thousands of companies eligible to compete for the designation, making the list was no easy feat. Nominations for the Best Places to Work award were submitted to the Business Intelligence Group in April 2016. Current and former American Solar Direct employees were asked to rate the company for overall satisfaction and performance, and such employee ratings were considered along with American Solar Direct’s online reviews. Companies with the best overall scores, using the Business Intelligence Group’s proprietary scoring system, were then recognized.

“The unique combination of providing employees with an opportunity for engagement, choice and development is the cornerstone of American Solar Direct’s culture and has led us to become one of the 2016 Best Places to Work,” added Kevin Bauer, the company’s President. “We take special pride in our employees and provide unprecedented on-the-job training. Every position in the company is exposed to leadership training and opportunities for career advancement. Our employees truly live and breathe solar.”

“We are so proud to reward such an outstanding group of companies in our inaugural Best Places to Work competition,” said Russ Fordyce, Managing Director of the Business Intelligence Group.
