In line with Oman’s vision to diversify fuel sources through the use of clean energy for power generation, Oman Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (“OPWP”), a member of Nama Group, has announced in December 2017 the launch of the first large utility scale solar PV independent power project (IPP) in Oman. The Request for Qualifications (RfQ) for the development of Ibri II Solar IPP was issued on 28 December 2017 and Statement of Qualifications (SoQs) were received from 28 Applicants on 22 February 2018 in response to the RfQ. The high number of applicants resembles the continued interest and trust in the Oman power sector which takes fairness, transparency and economic purchase as key pillars of its structure and framework.

The following is a list of Applicants (in alphabetical order) who have submitted a SoQ in response to the RfQ:
