China targets 2020 renewable power output of 1.9 trillion kilowatt hour

China is targeting renewable energy output of 1.9 trillion kilowatt hour (KWh) by 2020, accounting for 27 percent of the country’s total power output, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in its latest five-year plan for renewable energy on Friday.
The country aims to have installed renewable power capacity of 680 gigawatts (GW) by 2020, NDRC said.
China has released a series of plans for its power industry, pledging to limit coal-fired power and further develop renewables supplies.
