CleanMax Solar, India’s most trusted sustainability partner for the corporate segment, recently enabled Lakshmibai College which is run by the Government of Delhi, to install a rooftop solar project at their campus without any upfront investment. As part of the 2.5 MW contract secured with the Delhi Government’s power generation arm, Indraprastha Power Generation Co. Ltd. (IPGCL), CleanMax Solar has commissioned a 77 kWp project which is expected to reduce the electricity bill by 40%-50% with savings of over 5 lakhs per annum for next 25 years. Based on the ‘pay as you go’ or commonly known as ‘OPEX’ model, CleanMax Solar has provided solar power to Lakshmibai College at a tariff, 50% cheaper than the prevailing grid electricity tariffs.

This initiative is expected to generate 1,07,520 kWh of power per annum reducing the colleges’ dependence on grid electricity. The expected reduction in CO2 emission is 88.7 tons in a year for next 25 years. Adoption of solar power not only helps in cost saving but also moving towards a more sustainable form of energy.

Sharing his thoughts on the recent association, Gajanan Nabar, CEO, CleanMax Solar, said, “We are pleased to partner with Lakshmibai College to equip them to move towards a sustainable future. The soaring pollution level and high carbon footprint in Delhi is an indication that more institutes and corporates in the city should adopt solar energy not only to save cost but also reduce dependance on the grid power or diesel generators which are not environment friendly. For educational institutes, the cost saved can be invested in development of infrastructure and technology upgrades to better equip students.”

Dr. Pratyush Vatsala, Principal, Lakshmibai College, commented, “Adopting solar power is a socially responsible step and ensures financial benefits which can be passed on to the development of the institute. We are extremely happy to be associated with CleanMax Solar to implement rooftop solar project at our campus. As an educational institute, we are committed to contribute to preserving the environment and also hope to create awareness about the solar technology among our students and patrons.”

CleanMax Solar has successfully installed rooftop solar plants across more than 30 educational and research institutes in country which include IIT (BHU), Manipal Education and Medical Group, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Pune University, Aligarh Muslim University, Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Amity University among others.
