Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The World Future Energy Summit, part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, was the launch platform today for the 2018 Electric Vehicle Road Trip (EVRT), in the presence of His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry.

The starting signal for the cars to start their journey was given by Global EVRT’s Mobility Conference host, Nicki Shields, Scientist & Presenter at Formula E, CNN. Global EVRT, the organisers behind the epic 1,217-kilometre, nine-day road trip across the UAE and Oman – all without using a single drop of petrol – used WFES as the launch pad to promote their mission to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles to support the creation of smart and sustainable societies.

His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, provided the welcome address to attendees at the launch. Additional speakers included Ben Pullen, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Global EVRT, Sam Alawiye, Chief Executive Officer of GreenParking, Molly Peck, Chief Marketing Officer at General Motors MENA and Adrian White, Director Partnership Marketing at InterContinental Hotel Group.
