Business information provider IHS Markit recently announced its commitment to the Climate Action Goal (“Goal 13”) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by joining leading organizations that also share a mission of reducing CO2 emissions and seizing upon the resulting business benefits. IHS Markit has signed on to RE100, committing to sourcing 100 percent of electricity from renewable energy by 2020. Through its RE100 commitment, IHS Markit is now part of the “We Mean Business” coalition of more than 700 companies and investors committed to climate action. RE100 is a global initiative of influential businesses working to massively increase demand for – and delivery of – renewable energy. Supported by We Mean Business, RE100 is led by the Climate Group in partnership with CDP, a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

“Through our environmental commitments, IHS Markit continues to advance our own corporate sustainability efforts, which are essential to the way we do business every day,” said Jane Okun Bomba, the company’s executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief sustainability officer. “Making sustainability a top priority enables us to support our customers in new ways and deliver stronger returns for our shareholders.” “IHS Markit recognizes the benefits of switching to renewables, both for the environment and to ensure a sustainable business for the future,” said Sam Kimmins, head of RE100 at The Climate Group. “By setting bold 100 percent renewable power targets, leading businesses are demonstrating that they want to be at the forefront of the clean energy transition and will deliver on the Paris Agreement.” For more information about Corporate Sustainability at IHS Markit and for a copy of the company’s Annual Sustainability Report, go to https://www.ihs.com/about/corporate-sustainability.html
