Jakson Commissioned First 4Mw Refinery Solar Plant On BPCL Own Land

Jakson has installed 4 MWp Grid Connected Solar PV Plant in the Bina Refinery at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). As part of the project, Jakson has supply, install and commission solar power plant along with operation and maintenance services for 5 years through an integrated service package for the project, which has been commissioned on 30th March 2016. The plant has been developed near refinery on BPCLs own land. The proposed solar power plant is feeding 2 MW (AC) power to Bina-Kota Pipeline (BKP) substation within the refinery and 2 MW (AC) power to Bina Dispatch Terminal (BDT) substation within the refinery.

It is the first time in India i.e. HT motors being used for transmission of petroleum product through pipeline is being run by Solar Power said S.K Agarwal, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs. “This is a great step taken by BPCL to reduce its carbon footprint and promoting utilization of renewable energy. This is first kind of project where a refinery is getting a MW scale land based Solar Power Plant in India.” said Ashish Sethi, Director – Solar, Jakson.

First Green consulting is Project Management Consultancy of this projects and CEO of Frist Green Dr. Sanjay Vashishtha inform that by installing 4 Mw captive solar plant in BPCL Bina refinery has become first refinery having such a large capacity (4MW) within the campus to use solar power for its captive consumption.
