Leviathan Wind Energizer Announces New Wind Energy Technology for Fast Climate Change Action and Crowd Funding

Leviathan Wind Energizer of NY announces fundraising to combat climate change for the fastest way to increase the world’s supply of renewable energy.

How It Works

The technology is based on Computational Fluid Dynamics and aerodynamics. By creating computer models of wind flow and each turbine, Leviathan can design deflectors far away from the turbine that make the wind higher velocity and more uniform in the plane of the blades.

“Velocity is the most important part of the power equation because its relationship to the power is cubed, “ explained Dr. Farb. “That is why the effect is so great. It is also a technology game changer: It improves the wind, not the turbine!”

Magnitude of the Benefit

Wind energy reached a global capacity of 370 Gigawatts in 2014 (GWEC) and produced 185,000 Gigawatt-hours in the US in 2015 (USEIA). Therefore, a retrofit of the Wind Energizer technology in the US could quickly add almost 60,000 Gigawatt-hours of clean energy.

Two Different Crowdfunding Campaigns

Leviathan Wind Energizer is conducting simultaneous crowdfunding, one on Kickstarter for non-equity investors, and one on Fundable for equity investors with an unusually low minimum of $5000. They are also approaching traditional investor groups. “The advent of crowd funding enables us to democratize the access to projects like this. Lots of laymen can appreciate its significance, and often ask for something concrete they can do about the environment. Here is their chance,” said Dr. Farb.

History

Dr. Farb developed the technology in Israel, where a prototype produced 156% more energy than the control. That is not typical, he explained, because the effect is greater in regions with lower wind speeds. That is, however, another benefit in combating climate changes; the Wind Energizer expands the locations in the world where profitable wind farms can be built by lowering the cut-in speed.
