After more than 4 million electric kilometres travelled and many lessons learned, we are significantly expanding our commitment to electrify mobility in India. Ola leads by example, and we look forward to working with state governments and other partners to introduce accessible, affordable, and sustainable mobility solutions at scale.”

Ola brought its first electric vehicle to the roads in Nagpur with a partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra on May 26, 2017. The initiative was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, along with several other dignitaries present in Nagpur.

The task will consist of electric taxis, electric rickshaws, electric transports, rooftop solar installations, charging stations, and battery swapping experiments. The Electric Vehicle program in Nagpur has taught and provided Ola with experience in vehicles, batteries and activities.

Currently, the firm is in dialogue with the state government to draw a proper strategy to send electric three-wheelers.
