New Delhi: – Further strengthening its foothold in Karnataka, Rays Infra Power commissions yet another solar PV Plant in the state, with a total capacity of 9MW. The project was assigned by Brewer Energy Private Ltd; incorporated in July 2014, the company is involved in production, collection and distribution of electricity. Relentlessly serving under the cause of solar power in India, Rays Power started the project execution in November 2016 and commissioned it in the first week of July 2017. The project was executed on turnkey basis right from land acquisition to commissioning.

Further elaborating on the project and its execution, Ketan Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, Rays Power Infra said, “We have a very strong hold in Karnataka and this is the 2nd project of Rays Power Infra in the state. With 6.5 km, 66 KV of transmission lines installed, the project has been setup with a single axis tracker & fixed tilt technology and will give a very good estimate of the comparison of generation of both. Though, we faced few challenges with the land being highly uneven, the dedicated project team adopted corrective measures and the project was commissioned within the stipulated deadline.”

Commenting on the milestone, Hanuma Ambica Alapati, Director, Brewer Energy Private Ltd said, “We have been a part of Indian power segment since 2014 and this was the year that saw the dawn of solar power in India, with Modi being the flag bearer of renewable energy revival. Furthermore, post the revision of India’s solar mission at 100 GW by 2022, there has been a major paradigm shift in the Indian power sector. Aligning ourselves with the national solar goals, the idea is to contribute towards the ambitious solar targets of the county. ”

Spread over 60 acres of land in Pavagada Village, Tumkur District, Karnataka., this project is commissioned under Karnataka Farmer’s solar scheme. The scheme provides INR 8.4 per Kwh as tariff, which is one of the highest in the country and farmers with lands in Karnataka could bid for up to 3MW.
