Siemens has added a new integrated distributed energy application to its industry-leading EnergyIP® software, combining distributed energy management, virtual power plant capabilities and demand response on one platform. The application, Energy IP Distributed Energy Management System (DEMS) 4.0, allows utilities, aggregators, consumer, and industrial customers to combine traditionally siloed virtual power plant management programs and event-based demand response to maximize the value of distributed energy assets. “In today’s energy landscape, it’s not enough to have visibility to distributed energy assets on the grid, we have to find ways to make these assets more valuable all the way down to the consumer level,” said Mike Carlson, president of Siemens Digital Grid, North America. “That’s why we’ve introduced these new integrated applications for our industry-leading EnergyIP platform that give operators an unprecedented level of energy control and management in one comprehensive tool.”

The new applications within the EnergyIP platform will allow greater distributed energy device connectivity across different protocols, advanced forecasting methods, market modeling, dynamic real-time optimization, direct notification and customer engagement via a web-based tool, among others. Siemens Digital Grid partners with leading utilities and industrial energy consumers worldwide to provide expertise and innovative technologies. In North America, Digital Grid has worked with more than 1,000 energy customers to deliver proven solutions and services that improve operational efficiencies, enhance reliability and resiliency, and empower consumers to better manage their energy use. To learn more about Siemens EnergyIP platform, please visit www.usa.siemens.com/smartgrid. DistribuTECH 2017 attendees are invited to visit Siemens in booth 3113.
