South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) is all set to install four MW grid connected solar power plants on roofs of SECR buildings like Central hospital and multi department’s training centers under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Dr. Chandraprakash Tripathi, Chief Public Relations Officer, SECR said that power plants with total capacity of 218.18 KW had been previously installed and this project will further enhance utilization of solar energy. Uslapur electrical training centre will have a 100KW plant while Railway recruitment board and Bilaspur railway station will have plants of 50KW each. Additionally, solar panels will be installed at railway hospital, running room, training schools and level crossings. Tripathi said Bhanwar Tonk railway station is solely run through solar power since the area doesn’t have power supply.
