Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) of TPDDL said the the collaboration with GIZ will provide impetus towards adoption of clean, efficient and smart technology in the utility space.

New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL), the private electricity distributor in the national capital, today announced it has signed an agreement with German state-owned Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) for promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives.

The two parties would explore possibilities of collaboration at the utility level. “The purpose of the MoU is to achieve common goals and utility objectives related to promotion of grid-connected solar rooftop PV, Energy Storage System, Electric Vehicle and Smart Grid Initiatives, conduct researches and organize capacity building programs for channel partners, project developers, financial institutions, government departments, distribution utilities, PSUs,” TPDDL said in a statement.

Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) of TPDDL said the the collaboration with GIZ will provide impetus towards adoption of clean, efficient and smart technology in the utility space.

“We expect the collaboration with Tata Power-DDL will help us in designing and implementing tailored solutions by developing a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by distribution utilities in promoting mature clean technologies like rooftop photovoltaics,” GIZ Principal Advisor Joerg Gaebler said.

India has launched multiple initiatives to address the country’s economic, environmental and social challenges. GIZ is contributing to some of these. The German enterprise supports key initiatives including Smart Cities, Clean India and Skill India.
