Global leading ecological development solutions supplier, United Photovoltaics Group Limited (“United PV” or the “Company”, together with its affiliated companies, the “Group”, stock code: 00686.HK, whose largest shareholder is China Merchants New Energy Group) is pleased to announce that the electricity generation volume of the first quarter of 2017 has achieved 444,531 MWh, representing a substantial YoY increase of 67.8%. By the first quarter of 2017, United PV beneficially owned 38 solar power plants and achieved an aggregate installed capacity of 1.4 GW with a YoY growth of 42.5%. As the Company’s first batch of overseas projects, the power plants with aggregate installed capacity of 82.4 MW in the UK are well-operated with stable power generation, contributing 9.71 million kWh to the total power generation in the first quarter. In addition, the Company successfully acquired 17.29 MW of grid-connected solar power plant located in Tangshan, Hebei.

With the increasing power generation, the social benefits brought by United PV have also become prominent. The 444,531 MWh solar power generation can meet the demand of a full year electricity use of nearly 247,000 households, which is equivalent to saving 150,000 tons of standard coal or reducing 380,000 tons of CO2 emission or emitting 222 tons of smoke and dust; meanwhile, also approach to reduce of 3,690 tons of SO2 emission or 3,423 tons of nitrogen oxide emission, equivalent to planting 20.84 million trees. United PV has been playing a significant role in dealing with climate change and promoting green clean energy.

In recent years, Chinese government has vigorously promoted ecological civilization construction and green sustainable development, which had achieved remarkable results. In the “Government Work Report” issued in 2017, the proportion of clean energy consumption in 2016 increased by 1.7 percentage points, sulfur dioxide emission and nitrogen oxide emission decreased by 5.6% and 4% respectively. Looking ahead in 2017, the protection and management of ecological environment will be enhanced, aiming at exiting coal production capacity of more than 150 million tons, at the same time, replacing, ceasing, decelerating the coal power capacity construction of more than 50 million kilowatts, which will make more room for clean energy development. In the future, as the world’s leading eco-development solution provider, United PV will continue leveraging its strong domestic and international network resources, shouldering the responsibility as the leader of “Clean Energy Revolution”, and keep practicing environmental protection and green development, thus to contribute the most of our strength to protect the blue and clean earth.
