Watch: Mumbai housing society taps into solar power, saves Rs 5 lakh a year
This Mumbai society- the cliff tower- is reaching for the sun, well almost. They are tapping the power of the sun, aka, solar power, A go-green initiative involving solar power has saved the residents of the society almost 5 lakh in terms of electricity consumption. Despite the fact that it is monsoon season, 3000 units of electricity have already been generated. Space constraints resulted in the initiative being unable to reach all residents of the society, but that did not deter them from going forth with this initiative. Using a grid system, they were able to generate the entire amount of electricity needed to cover the electricity expenses for the building- almost Rs. 55,000 a month.
