Brazil registers over 106 GW of renewables for Sept 16 tenders – EQ Mag Pro

Brazil’s state-owned power analysis agency EPE unveiled on Wednesday that greater than 106 GW of renewable power initiatives have been registered for the 2 auctions that can be held sequentially on September 16, 2022.
The A-5 and A-6 tenders will contract wind, photo voltaic photovoltaic (PV) energy, hydro, power from stable city waste, biomass, biogas, coal and pure fuel. Total, 2,766 power initiatives will compete for contracts.

The winners will safe energy buy agreements (PPA) with a 15-year time period for wind and photo voltaic, and 20 years for the remaining initiatives.
Energy provide is about to begin on January 1, 2027 for A-5 and January 1, 2028 for A-6 winners, the federal government stated beforehand.
