Fluidic Energy Engages Veteran Renewable Energy Leaders Ned Hall and Robert Kelly as Strategic Advisors

Fluidic Energy™ announced today that renewable power executives Ned Hall and Robert Kelly will be joining the company as strategic advisors. Hall, who has over 35 years of broad experience in the electricity business, and Kelly, the former CFO of Solar City, recently accepted roles to help Fluidic Energy attain its aggressive goal of bringing reliable electricity to 100 million people by 2025.

Fluidic Energy has completed over 2,400 system installations in over 10 countries, impacting nearly four million people and thousands of communities with its game-changing, intelligent whole product approach to energy storage solutions based on low cost Zinc-air technology. Fluidic storage systems are solving renewable energy challenges for rural electrification, telecom, critical power and residential and light commercial applications, where both Hall and Kelly will support the company’s growth.

“Economic energy storage solutions will enable an ever increasing market share for renewable generation. Fluidic Energy is a low cost provider of reliable, and safe, metal-air battery technology. I look forward to lending my experience to the leadership of this company as they continue to build on impressive achievements around the world,” said Hall.

Kelly agreed, adding, “Fluidic’s proven capabilities in diverse real world situations are very exciting to me. This is an energy storage solutions provider that has proven its model and continues to learn and refine its systems based on real world experiences. I am thrilled to be able to support their continued growth.”

Hall currently serves on the board of directors of General Cable; as an independent director of TerraForm Power, Inc.; and as a non-executive director of Globeleq, the leading independent power producer in sub- Saharan Africa. In addition, Hall is the Vice Chairman of Japan Wind Development Co., Ltd. In the past he held leadership positions with AES Corporation, American Wind Energy Association and most recently serving as Executive Vice President at Atlantic Power Corporation.

Prior to his role as CFO at SolarCity, Kelly served as the chief financial officer of clean tech company Calera Corporation and also as an independent consultant providing financial advice to retail energy providers and power developers. Kelly also serves on the Board of Directors for several companies including Azure Power Global Limited, Solar Mosaic Inc., SunShare and Solix Algredients, Inc.

With nearly 100 patents and over $200 million in funding, Fluidic Energy’s offering is gaining momentum globally. According to Steve Scharnhorst, Fluidic Energy’s CEO, attracting top talent like Hall and Kelly “will help take Fluidic to the next level.”

“As we have continued to refine our offering and expand into diverse markets, we have proven not only what this technology can do, but that the marketplace is ready for a solution that addresses the issues that have held renewables back in the past. Insight and guidance from such well-respected leaders as Ned Hall and Robert Kelly is invaluable as we offer true partnership for the companies and communities that need reliable, long duration storage that is both affordable and sustainable over time,” said Scharnhorst.
