1.The Ministry has set a target of 40,000 MW upto year 2022 for Grid connected rooftop solar power plant by year 2022. The program envisages implementation through multiple agencies including Channel Partners, New Entrepreneurs, Govt. Agency etc. for rapid up-scaling of the programme in an inclusive manner. Channel Partners are one of the major implementing arms of this programme and Ministry intends to utilize their potential with the quality installation to achieve this target.
2. Cabinet in its recent meeting held on 30.12.2015 has approved the upscaling of budget from Rs, 600 crore to Rs. 5,000 crore for implementation of Grid Connected Rooftops systems over a period of five years upto 2019-20 under National Solar Mission (NSM). This will support Installation of 4200 MW Solar Rooftop systems in the country in next five years.
3. It is proposed to interact with the empanelled channel partners/New Entrepreneurs and Govt. Agencies to understand their issues and discuss the modus operandi for up scaling the installation. Orientation Programme-cum Interaction Meet with Empanelled Channel Partners, New Entrepreneurs & Government Agencies regarding Grid Connected Rooftop SPV Power Plants is being organized under the Chairmanship of Shri Tarun Kapoor, Joint Secretary, MNRE on 14th January, 2016 at 2:30 –5:00 PM in “The Auditorium”, SCOPE Convention Centre, SCOPE Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003.
