Abja Power, part of the diversified My Home Group, has forayed into solar power generation in collaboration with a startup and plans to execute 50 megawatt projects in the next 12 months, said a senior company official. The company has tied up with PuREnergy, a startup offering connected solar devices and internet of things (IoT) based solar energy management solutions, and will soon be floating a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to execute projects for captive use, commercial rooftops etc. Nishanth Dongari, founder, PuREnergy and assistant professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, said, “We will be floating a special purpose vehicle with Abja, wherein the investments would be made by the former while PuREnergy would take care of the technology part.

Our present focus is on residential and commercial projects to complement the Smart City programmes. We have plans to enter into large scale utility
projects in the upcoming solar parks across the nation”. “With this collaboration, we wanted to make difference in the solar energy sector by coming up with smart and innovative solar energy systems, which are controlled and operated by IoT technology,” said Roy Chowdhury, chief executive officer (CEO), Abja Power. Earlier, they have executed a rooftop project for My Home Hub, a commercial project of My Home Constructions and plan to emulate the same with their residential projects as well. The IIT Hyderabad incubated startup offers customized hybrid and costeffective solutions for solar energy.
