SJVN has been granted Category “I” License for Inter-State Trading in Electricity in whole of India by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission vide Order dated 10th January 2022.
SJVN will now be trading electricity generated by any public & private generating entity. Company plans to develop robust systems for Market Research, Forecasting & Management such as Load Forecasting, Load Management, Weather-Based Load Curve Estimation, Risk Mitigation etc. By effectively implementing these systems, future demand & supply gap can be anticipated thereafter fulfilling the requirements of the customers.
Our endeavor is to facilitate Power Trading by creating Pan-India network of buyers & sellers. We shall focus on fulfilling power supply demands across States while addressing seasonal and regional variance of demand & supply.
The key focus areas shall be:
– minimizing off-take risks of Selling Systems by Sourcing Alternate / Default Buyers.
– aggregating surplus capacities of Small & Medium Power Generation Units to establish a Sustainable Trading System.
Presently, we are in process of setting up a fully functional Trading Desk to efficiently carry out activities related to Power Trading. We have a vibrant and energetic Team with vast and in-depth knowledge of Global and Indian Power Sector.
All the Trading related operational activities shall be coordinated from SJVN’s Office & Control Room in Shimla & New Delhi.
