Spain-based Eosol breaks ground for US$ 100 million photovoltaic plant in Durango

Spain-based renewable energy developer Eosol in recent days broke ground in order to build a 108-MW solar power plant in Durango, Mexico, the local government announced.

The project named La Trinidad l photovoltaic (PV) plant is scheduled to connect to the national grid by December 15. Nearly US$ 100 million were invested for that end, governor Jose Aispuro Torres said.

La Trinidad I is one of three facilities Eosol will develop in Durango during the coming years for a total 283.6 MW of combined capacity. Overall, the company estimates to invest US$ 250 million in the three plants.

The second project is a 57.6-MW solar farm with a cost of approximately US$ 50 million. The final project will have a capacity of 118 MW and requires an investment of about US$ 100 million.
