Tata Power Solar, India’s largest integrated solar player, has emerged as a leader in solar rooftop solutions for the second consecutive year among EPC contractors, in the recently published India Solar Rooftop Map 2016 report by BRIDGE TO INDIA, a leading Cleantech consulting firm. As per this year’s report, the total installed capacity for rooftops in the country is 525 MW as of October 2015, inclusive of the commercial, residential and industrial sector. Tata Power Solar leads the space with more than twice the market share over its nearest competitor.

Commenting on the map, Mr. Vinay Rustagi, Managing Director, BRIDGE TO INDIA, said, “The Indian rooftop solar market saw tremendous growth last year and we expect the sector to register growth rates of over 50% per annum going forward. There is a very strong government push for the sector and rooftop solar is becoming an increasingly attractive energy source for bulk energy consumers in particular. While the market remains fragmented, top-tier players like Tata Power Solar have built a strong franchise in this market.”

Tata Power Solar has installed over 65 MW of distributed generation and rooftop projects, including prominent rooftop projects with Asian Paints for 4.45 MW, GEDA for 1.2 MW, Murugan Textiles for 2 MW and SASTRA University for 1.25 MW, along with multiple residential and industrial projects. In a category which is gaining focus and attracting multiple players, Tata Power Solar with its undiluted approach towards quality modules, timely installation and an excellent customer experience has surged ahead in the rooftop solar space.

Ashish Khanna, ED & CEO of Tata Power Solar commenting on the report, said, “We at Tata Power Solar are delighted to have our work recognised. Customers continue to repose faith in our 25 years of experience in solar module manufacturing, and the reliability of our modules complemented by our engineering capabilities and diverse rooftop product offerings carefully calibrated to suit the challenging needs and terrains of our customers. We are encouraged by recent trends, especially in rooftops and customer consciousness towards quality, and would like to maintain our leadership position in the future.”
