For more investments in solar energy sector in the state, Union minister of state (independent) for power, Piyush Goyal urged Rajasthan government to remove transmission charges.
Addressing the media through video conferencing on completion of central government’s three years, Goyal pointed to immense opportunities available in the sector.
“Rajasthan has a lot of potential for investments in solar energy sector. This can be enhanced if government abolishes intra-state transmission charges” said Goyal. He mentioned that due to abundance of solar energy, Rajasthan can produce so much of energy that not only for its own consumption but state can sell it to other states too. Stressing his point furt her, minister added, “Waiving off of transmission charges will also generate income and employment and benefit other states as well. I had a word with chief minister Vasundhara Raje five days ago on this” On imbalance ratio of electricians over number of consumers, Goyal claimed that Center is considering issuing new guidelines on power load per transformer to maintain equilibrium to cater more effectively to the consumers. Along with it minister announced that all large `gaushalas across the country will soon have their own biogasification equipment and bottling unit to make good use of bio waste.
“I have instructed officials to come up with an improvised scheme, which will help gaushalas to make good use of cow dung for generating biogas,” said Goyal. He said bio waste has huge scope, which can generate biogas usable for cooking food.It can also help gaushalas earn some money, he added.
The minister hailed the achievements and initiatives of the ministry of power, coal, new and renewable energy made in the last three years. “Achieving 24×7 affordable clean power for all and ensuring optimum utilization of natural resources are critical for `Ujwal Bharat’,” he said.
He claimed that over the past three years, the ministry has made considerable progress towards achieving this goal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
