In Short : Delta Electronics India has signed a 12-year wind power purchase agreement with Ventus Energy to supply 9.6 million units annually to its Tamil Nadu plants. The move will cut 6,979 tonnes of CO₂ emissions yearly. This supports Delta’s global net-zero goal and reinforces its commitment to sustainability through renewable energy integration across operations in India.

In Detail : Energy and power management solutions provider Delta Electronics India will procure 9.6 million kWh of wind electricity annually for its manufacturing and operational facilities located in Tamil Nadu.

The long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) was announced by Ventus Energy Consultancy on Monday. The arrangement will back Delta Electronics’ decarbonisation goals, allowing it to reduce its reliance on fossil-fuel power and lower its carbon footprint by roughly 6,979 tonnes per year.

The wind power volumes will be sourced from plants located in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Tiruppur and delivered through the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) grid. Supplies to Delta Electronics will be carried out for 12 years.

“Integrating renewable energy into our operations aligns our growth with India’s climate goals and accelerates our global net-zero vision,” said Benjamin Lin, president of Delta Electronics India.

Since 2021, Delta Electronics has been part of RE100, a Climate Group-led environmental initiative uniting corporates looking to achieve 100% renewable power use and carbon neutrality in their global operations by 2030. The company plans to expand its renewable energy sourcing across more of its Indian facilities to back those targets.
