In Detail : Andhra Pradesh is rapidly positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s green energy sector, according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The state’s focus on sustainability has become a cornerstone of its development agenda.
CM Naidu highlighted the progress during preparations for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, aiming to showcase the state as a hub for innovation and renewable energy.
The Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park, with a capacity of 1,000 MW, demonstrates Andhra Pradesh’s solar energy potential. This landmark project has become a symbol of the state’s renewable energy ambitions.
In addition to solar, the state has approved projects worth ₹71,400 crore in solar and wind energy, strengthening its green infrastructure and attracting both domestic and international investment.
Andhra Pradesh is also investing in green hydrogen, with a high-level advisory committee driving sector development. The initiative aims to establish Amaravati as India’s green hydrogen valley.
Sustainable urban development is another focus area, exemplified by the new Project Office of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) in Amaravati, which has achieved IGBC Net Zero certification.
CM Naidu’s leadership is evident in schemes like ‘Chandranna Vidyut Velugulu,’ ensuring continuous 24-hour power supply. The initiative has reached 97% completion in Nellore Rural, setting benchmarks for power infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Andhra Pradesh seeks to strengthen digital infrastructure, promote renewable energy, and foster global collaborations. These efforts are designed to attract investments and stimulate inclusive economic growth.
