The collaboration integrates Battery Smart’s extensive battery-swapping infrastructure with Lilypad’s digital marketplace, allowing customers to buy battery-less electric vehicles. This approach aims to lower upfront costs and simplify charging and battery maintenance for consumers.
The partnership will launch an initial three-month activation campaign from October to December 2025, targeting students and young professionals in Noida and Greater Noida. The goal is to sell around 1,000 vehicles during this period, while setting the stage for rapid expansion across Delhi NCR in 2026. Consumers will get hands-on experience with swappable battery technology.
Prateek Joshi, Senior Director of Partnerships at Battery Smart, highlighted that this partnership is a key step toward mainstreaming electric vehicles. By combining Battery Smart’s network with Lilypad’s innovative marketplace, the collaboration seeks to make transportation more accessible, reliable, and fully electric for a wider audience.
Uday Parmar, Co-Founder of Lilypad, emphasized that simplifying EV adoption has always been the company’s mission. Partnering with Battery Smart allows Lilypad to offer vehicles without the burden of battery ownership while leveraging India’s trusted battery-swapping network. This initiative is expected to drive the next wave of electric mobility in the region.
The collaboration also aims to strengthen India’s sustainable transportation ecosystem and promote a shift to cleaner mobility. By making EV ownership affordable, convenient, and accessible, Battery Smart and Lilypad are helping build a flexible, future-ready infrastructure that empowers riders and accelerates the adoption of electric two-wheelers.
Battery Smart operates over 1,600 swap stations across more than 50 cities and has completed over 90 million battery swaps since 2019. The company was co-founded by IIT-Kanpur graduates Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka. Lilypad, founded by Aaryan Sharma and Uday Parmar, offers a full-stack platform for E2Ws, including discovery, demonstrations, purchase, rental, and fleet management.
