In Detail : Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited (BANDR) has issued a tender for a 600 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. The project is split into two 300 MW blocks and will connect to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) grid. This initiative is part of India’s broader push to expand renewable energy capacity.
The tender, released on October 13, 2025, invites partners for the Balance of System (BOS) package. This includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar infrastructure. BANDR is seeking qualified bidders capable of handling large-scale project requirements efficiently.
Selected partners will also be responsible for comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for three years post-commissioning. This ensures long-term sustainability and optimal performance of the solar PV systems, contributing to grid stability and consistent energy output.
The project is located within NTPC Renewable Energy Limited’s (REL) Khavda Renewable Energy Park, South Block, in the Rann of Kutch. This arid region offers high solar irradiance and vast land availability, making it ideal for large-scale solar energy development.
Interested bidders must submit proposals by November 14, 2025. The tender requires a ₹1 crore Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) and a 3% Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG). These measures ensure participation from serious and financially capable entities.
The project emphasizes operational excellence and reliability through the three-year O&M responsibility. By maintaining systems to high standards, the initiative supports the longevity and efficiency of India’s renewable energy infrastructure while reducing downtime and maximizing output.
This solar PV project reinforces India’s commitment to achieving sustainability goals and expanding clean energy generation. It also strengthens Gujarat’s position as a leader in renewable energy, leveraging favorable land and climatic conditions for optimal energy yield.
Collaboration between Bridge and Roof Company and NTPC REL highlights the synergy between public sector enterprises in driving large-scale renewable projects. Such partnerships pool resources, expertise, and technology, ensuring efficient execution and impactful outcomes in India’s green energy sector.
