In Detail : Ceigall Green Energy MP Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ceigall India Limited, has executed 15 long-term power purchase agreements with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited for a total solar capacity of 130 MW. The agreements mark a major milestone in the company’s expansion into renewable energy and strengthen its presence in utility-scale solar development across India. The PPAs provide long-term project visibility and reinforce the company’s transition toward clean energy assets.
The solar projects will be implemented under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeder Yojana, a government initiative designed to supply reliable daytime electricity to agricultural feeders through dedicated solar installations. The scheme supports decentralised renewable generation while reducing dependence on conventional power sources for rural and farming consumption. The initiative also aligns with India’s broader objective of expanding solar infrastructure in agriculture-heavy states.
The total estimated engineering, procurement, and construction cost for the 130 MW capacity stands at approximately ₹572 crore, including taxes. The projects are expected to be completed within a 12-month execution period, reflecting an accelerated deployment timeline. This fast-track execution strategy highlights the company’s focus on scaling renewable capacity quickly while maintaining operational efficiency.
Under the signed agreements, the company will develop, operate, and maintain solar photovoltaic power plants for a period of 25 years. Electricity generated from these plants will be supplied at a fixed tariff of ₹2.85 per unit, ensuring predictable long-term revenue and stable cash flow. Such long-duration PPAs enhance project bankability and support financing for utility-scale renewable assets.
The project is expected to contribute significantly to Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy capacity while improving daytime power supply for agricultural feeders. Dedicated solar-based feeders reduce grid stress during peak farming hours and lower subsidy burdens associated with conventional power supply.
