Summary:

### **1. Key Amendments Introduced**

#### **a) Updated Contract Demand Limits (Code 3.4)**
The amendment revises the minimum and maximum contract demands for different supply voltages:

| Supply Voltage | Minimum Contract Demand | Maximum Contract Demand |
|—————-|————————–|————————–|
| 230 V | – | 5 kW |
| 440 V | – | Up to 200 HP or 150 kW |
| 11 kV | 60 kVA | 500 kVA |
| 33 kV | 60 kVA | 15,000 kVA |
| 132 kV | 4,000 kVA | 40,000 kVA |
| 220 kV | 15,000 kVA | 150,000 kVA |

#### **b) Simplified Rooftop Solar Installation (New Code 4.1(e))**
For rooftop solar PV systems **up to 10 kW**:
– **No technical feasibility study** required.
– If the solar capacity exceeds the existing contract demand, the contract demand will be **deemed enhanced** accordingly.
– Consumers must pay **additional security deposit** as applicable.
– **Single-phase connections** with a sanctioned load ≤5 kW must **convert to three-phase** for solar systems >5 kW, with temporary load enhancement allowed up to 5 kW until conversion.

#### **c) Separate Connection for EV Charging Stations (Amendment to Code 4.20(ii))**
– **Non-domestic consumers** can now avail a **separate LT/HT connection** for EV charging stations within the same premises.
– Suitable metering and equipment must be installed.

#### **d) Revised Load Limit for LT Connection (Code 7.16(i))**
– Consumers are now permitted to **changeover to LT connection** with a connected load **up to 150 kW** (previously lower).

#### **e) Correction in Code 4.52(i)**
– The term **“112 kW”** is replaced with **“150 kW”** for consistency with other amendments.

**2. Commencement and Applicability**

– The amendment comes into force from the date of its publication in the **Chhattisgarh Rajpatra (Official Gazette)**.
– It applies to the **entire state of Chhattisgarh**.

**3. Significance of the Amendment**

– **Promotes Renewable Energy:** Simplifies and accelerates rooftop solar adoption.
– **Supports EV Infrastructure:** Encourages setting up of EV charging stations.
– **Enhances Consumer Flexibility:** Updates load and contract demand limits to reflect current needs.
– **Aligns with National “Ease of Living” Initiatives:** Part of broader efforts to simplify regulations and improve service delivery.
