Envision Energy India Launches ₹500 Crore Wind Blade Factory to Boost Gujarat’s Renewable Energy Manufacturing – EQ
In Short : Envision Energy India has broken ground on a ₹500 crore wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Kalyangadh, Gujarat. The 2 GW-capable plant will produce up to 1,500 blades annually for 3.3 MW and 5 MW turbines, supporting over 4 GW of regional projects. Expected to create 4,000 jobs, it strengthens India’s domestic renewable manufacturing and aligns with Make-in-India initiatives.
In Detail : Envision Energy India has initiated construction of a ₹500 crore wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Kalyangadh, Ahmedabad District, Gujarat. This marks the company’s third manufacturing site in India and aligns with national initiatives like Make-in-India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, aimed at boosting domestic renewable energy production and reducing reliance on imports.
The new facility is designed to produce up to 1,500 wind turbine blades annually using six molds. It will cater to 3.3 MW and 5 MW turbine platforms, supporting over 4 GW of wind energy projects across more than 10 sites in five districts of Gujarat, strengthening the regional renewable energy infrastructure.
Once fully operational by mid-2027, the plant is expected to generate approximately 4,000 direct and indirect jobs. This will benefit local communities and ancillary industries while enhancing the supply chain for wind energy components, contributing to Gujarat’s growing status as a hub for renewable energy manufacturing.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan, Member of Parliament—Lok Sabha, Kheda, Gujarat, and other officials such as Kiritsinh Sardarsang Dabhi, MLA, Dholka Assembly. Representatives from Envision Energy India, led by Managing Director RPV Prasad, also participated, highlighting the strategic importance of the project.
The facility supports the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Make-in-India mandate, which seeks to expand domestic manufacturing of renewable energy components. By producing critical wind turbine parts locally, the plant will reduce import dependence and help India meet its clean energy targets efficiently.
This development aligns with India’s goal of achieving 50% of installed power capacity from non-fossil sources by 2030. Envision Energy’s Gujarat facility is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the country’s clean energy transition and supporting large-scale renewable energy deployment in the region.
The Gujarat plant will complement Envision Energy’s existing operations in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, where wind turbine blades are already being manufactured. The expansion enhances production capacity, ensuring that the company can meet growing demand for wind energy components in India and strengthen its domestic supply chain.
Envision Energy’s investment underscores Gujarat’s prominence as a center for renewable energy manufacturing. The project demonstrates the state’s commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy ambitions and creating an ecosystem conducive to clean energy investments, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
The establishment of the facility is also expected to attract additional investments in Gujarat’s renewable energy sector. By fostering economic growth, creating employment, and strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities, Envision Energy’s initiative contributes to both local development and India’s broader clean energy objectives.
