In Short : Goldi Solar has launched India’s first AI-driven solar manufacturing facility, marking a significant advancement in the renewable energy sector. This state-of-the-art facility leverages artificial intelligence to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of solar panels. The initiative underscores Goldi Solar’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, positioning India as a leader in smart solar manufacturing technologies.

In Detail : Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, inaugurated India’s first AI-powered solar manufacturing line at Goldi Solar’s newly established plant in Kosamba, Surat, Gujarat. This innovative AI-powered facility is set to redefine solar manufacturing by improving precision, scalability, and efficiency. It plays a key role in advancing India’s journey toward achieving a net-zero future, as stated by the company.

The plant, designed to have a production capacity of 14 GW, features several groundbreaking technologies, including AI-powered high-speed stringers that enable the production of 10,000 cells per hour. This automation ensures high consistency, reduces errors, and minimizes material wastage. The facility also utilizes AI-powered Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems that employ computer vision to detect and eliminate defects on a microscopic level, ensuring top-tier quality control.

In addition, the facility includes an integrated pre-lamination section with an automated EVA laying robot, which optimizes the placement of encapsulation layers with minimal human intervention. This reduces inconsistencies compared to manual methods. The plant is further equipped with AI-driven 3-Display EL and visual inspection systems to guarantee that only the highest quality solar modules are produced, improving reliability and durability.

Minister Pralhad Joshi expressed his admiration for Goldi Solar’s contribution to India’s clean energy goals. “It’s great to see Indian companies leading the global clean energy transformation in line with PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision. Goldi Solar’s 14 GW capacity and AI-powered innovations are strengthening India’s renewable energy future,” he said during his visit to the facility.

Ishver Dholakiya, Founder and Managing Director of Goldi Solar, shared the company’s pride in being the first Indian solar manufacturer to incorporate AI into the production process. “With AI revolutionizing production quality, both ‘Made in India’ and ‘Make in India’ are set to thrive, boosting exports and improving production standards. Our 14 GW facility reflects our dedication to innovation, sustainability, and a net-zero future for India,” Dholakiya stated.
