GREW Solar secures ~1,464.5 MW solar module supply order from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited valued at over ₹2,000 crore – EQ
Ahmedabad/Mumbai – India’s clean energy landscape is witnessing rapid momentum, driven by national targets to expand non-fossil fuel electricity capacity to 500 GW by 2030, strengthen energy independence by 2047, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. Strengthening this national push toward sustainable energy, GREW Solar, one of India’s fastest-growing solar PV manufacturers, has secured a contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for the supply of high-efficiency solar PV modules aggregating to approximately 1,464.5 MW across multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh. The cumulative contract value stands at approximately ₹2,028.33 crore, marking one of the largest module supply partnerships under NTPC REL’s current renewable energy program.
GREW Solar will supply advanced, high-efficiency solar PV modules backed by robust quality standards and cutting-edge manufacturing technology for deployment across multiple sites. This project will play a pivotal role in supporting NTPC REL’s renewable energy expansion, while advancing India’s long-term clean energy transition and decarbonisation objectives.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director, GREW Solar said, “Partnering with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited on one of India’s most significant solar initiatives reflects both the trust in our technology and the shared commitment to a sustainable future. At GREW Solar, we see each project as more than a supply order, it’s a responsibility to power progress with integrity, precision, and purpose. With a strong national push toward self-reliant manufacturing and innovation-led solar solutions, we remain deeply committed to advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and strengthening India’s renewable ecosystem. This collaboration reinforces our dedication to shaping the country’s clean energy landscape, where innovation and impact go hand in hand.”
This order comes at a defining moment for GREW Solar, as the company expands its manufacturing footprint to keep pace with the rising national demand for high-performance solar modules. GREW Solar continues to drive India’s renewable manufacturing ecosystem while contributing to the country’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
About GREW Solar
Backed by the Chiripal Group’s 52-year legacy of manufacturing excellence, GREW Solar has quickly risen to prominence since its inception in 2022. In its first year, the company launched M10 modules of up to 550 Wp and commissioned 1.2 GW of PV module manufacturing at Dudu, Rajasthan. By 2025, GREW Solar scaled its operational capacity to 3.0 GW delivering high-efficiency M10 TOPCon modules of up to 590 Wp. The company is currently expanding its Dudu plant to 11.0 GW, making it one of India’s largest AI powered, integrated solar PV module manufacturing plants equipped with its own state-of-the-art R&D laboratory. Looking ahead, GREW will initially establish a 3.0 GW solar PV cell plant at Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, followed by a capacity expansion to 8.0 GW by end of 2026 at the same location, enabling backward integration.
