Nellore Rural Achieves 97% Completion in Chandranna Vidyut Velugulu Scheme, Setting State Benchmark – EQ

In Detail : Nellore Rural constituency in Andhra Pradesh has achieved an impressive 97% progress under the Chandranna Vidyut Velugulu scheme, setting a record in the state. The initiative aims to provide 24-hour uninterrupted power supply and implement a three-phase current system across the region. The total investment in the project amounts to ₹9,139 crore.
The scheme is implemented in coordination with the Central Government’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), launched in July 2021. Its focus is on modernizing the power distribution network, improving reliability, and reducing transmission losses through advanced infrastructure upgrades and smart technologies.
At the district level, SPSR Nellore has completed 59.4% of its work, placing it just behind Bapatla district, which leads with 59.51%. Within the APSPDCL region, Nellore circle leads with 59.4% completion, ahead of Tirupati, Chittoor, and other major circles.
The exceptional 97% completion in Nellore Rural surpasses other constituencies in the district, including Atmakur at 65%, demonstrating the constituency’s efficiency and commitment to timely execution of development projects.
MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy attributed the rapid progress to continuous engagement with stakeholders and regular monitoring. His proactive approach ensured that the project remained on track, addressing issues promptly and maintaining momentum throughout implementation.
