In Detail : NTPC Group has begun commercial operations of a 193 MW segment at the Nokh Solar PV Project located in Rajasthan. This is part of the company’s broader plan to establish a 735 MW solar capacity at the site, split across three plots. The commercial operation date for the new capacity was officially recorded as June 9, 2025.
The commissioning of this 193 MW section brings NTPC’s standalone installed capacity to 59,606 MW. With this, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 80,708 MW. This milestone highlights the company’s rapid progress in expanding its renewable energy footprint.
The Nokh Solar PV Project is a key part of NTPC’s strategy to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. The project showcases NTPC’s shift toward sustainable energy, aligning with India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The phased development ensures reliable integration with the power grid.
The full 735 MW capacity at Nokh will be achieved in stages, and this latest addition marks a major step forward.
