PM Modi Launches Avaada’s ₹9,200 Crore Solar and Storage Initiative to Strengthen Rajasthan’s Green Energy Capacity – EQ
In Short : PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Avaada Group’s ₹9,200 crore green energy initiative in Rajasthan. The project includes a 1,560 MWp solar plant with 2,500 MWh battery storage at Pugal and a 282 MWp solar plant at Shri Dungargarh. The facilities will create 1,600 jobs, reduce over 2 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, and enhance grid reliability.
In Detail : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Avaada Group’s ₹9,200 crore green energy initiative in Rajasthan. The ambitious project aims to strengthen India’s renewable energy capacity while promoting sustainable development and creating employment opportunities in the region. It reflects the government’s commitment to a low-carbon economy and energy security.
The centerpiece of the initiative is a 1,560 MWp solar power plant at Pugal, integrated with a 2,500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Spanning 4,000 acres, this facility will enable round-the-clock solar energy supply, ensuring grid stability and supporting Rajasthan’s growing renewable energy needs.
A second project at Shri Dungargarh in Bikaner district will have a 200 MW (282 MWp) solar power capacity. The plant, covering 777 acres, will supply electricity to local distribution companies using ALMM-certified, Made-in-India TOPCon N-Type bifacial solar modules, emphasizing domestic manufacturing and technology adoption.
These combined projects are expected to generate over 1,600 green jobs in Rajasthan, contributing to local economic growth. Advanced robotic cleaning systems will conserve approximately six million liters of water annually, underscoring the environmentally sustainable approach of Avaada’s renewable energy operations.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, praised the initiative as a historic milestone in India’s energy transition. He highlighted its potential to enhance energy security, reduce carbon emissions, and reinforce India’s position as a global leader in clean energy deployment.
The Rajasthan initiative is part of a broader ₹19,210 crore investment by Avaada across solar parks, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure. The combined effort supports India’s target of achieving 181.5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning the state as a hub for large-scale green energy projects.
Avaada Group’s investment reinforces Rajasthan’s role as a preferred destination for renewable energy projects. Strategic location, supportive policies, and proactive state governance make it attractive for both domestic and international investors aiming to participate in India’s energy transition.
Integration of solar power with battery storage at Pugal and Dungargarh provides a replicable model for other regions seeking reliable and sustainable energy solutions. These facilities enhance grid resilience and demonstrate how renewable projects can meet both environmental and energy demands.
