The initiative is part of the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, which aims to encourage solar energy adoption in public infrastructure without upfront capital expenditure.
The benchmark project cost has been set at ₹45,000 per kilowatt for general category regions and ₹49,500 per kilowatt for special category regions. Bidders must also quote a levelized ceiling tariff of ₹4.64 per kWh for general regions and ₹5.15 per kWh for special regions, ensuring transparency and competitiveness in project execution.
Interested parties are required to submit their bids by November 7, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for November 8. An earnest money deposit of ₹45,000 is mandatory for all bidders. The tender process is designed to select qualified bidders with experience in large-scale solar installations.
REIL, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Rajasthan government, has previously executed similar rooftop solar projects.
