Singareni Collieries Invites Bids for 8-Year O&M of 5 MW Floating Solar Plant in Telangana – EQ
In Short : Singareni Collieries has floated an O&M tender for its 5 MW floating solar project at the Singareni Thermal Power Plant reservoir. The eight-year contract includes maintenance, grid interface management, and performance monitoring. Eligible bidders must meet past project experience and financial criteria. This follows SCCL’s continued clean energy expansion through rooftop and floating solar initiatives.
In Detail : Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has issued a tender for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of a 5 MW floating solar project. The plant is located at the reservoir of the Singareni Thermal Power Plant in Telangana. This move is part of SCCL’s broader effort to integrate more renewable energy into its portfolio.
The selected contractor will be responsible for maintaining the plant’s operations over an eight-year period. Key requirements include ensuring that any system faults are resolved within 48 hours. The contractor must also manage power curtailments, grid interface control, and power factor adjustments to maintain seamless performance.
The scope of the contract covers regular servicing, preventive maintenance, and replacement of system components like modules, inverters, and electrical panels. The goal is to sustain the floating solar plant’s efficiency and output throughout its operational period.
To qualify for bidding, contractors must have executed at least one floating or ground-mounted solar project of 2 MW or more in the last five years, or two separate 1 MW projects. Experience can be as either a developer or an O&M contractor. This ensures that only experienced firms are entrusted with the project.
Financial eligibility criteria include a minimum annual turnover of ₹10 million and working capital of at least ₹7.5 million in the preceding fiscal year. Bidders are also required to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹150,000 to be considered for the tender.
This tender builds on SCCL’s recent renewable energy initiatives, including a May 2025 tender for 5 MW of rooftop solar and a 10 MW floating solar project tender released in March. The company’s continued efforts signal a strong commitment to transitioning toward clean energy while reducing its carbon footprint.
