In Detail : Suzlon Group has secured a 381 MW wind energy project from Zelestra India and its affiliated companies. This marks a significant milestone as it represents Suzlon’s first Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project in India.
The project involves the installation of 127 wind turbine generators of the S144 model, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW. These turbines are part of Suzlon’s 3 MW series, known for their advanced technology and higher efficiency.
The wind farms will be spread across three Indian states—Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Specifically, 180 MW will be installed in Maharashtra, another 180 MW in Madhya Pradesh, and the remaining 21 MW in Tamil Nadu.
This project is being developed under India’s renewable energy policy framework that emphasizes grid stability and consistent power delivery. FDRE projects are designed to ensure predictable and dispatchable energy output, making them vital for the evolving power market.
Suzlon’s role will include manufacturing, supplying, and commissioning the wind turbines, as well as providing comprehensive operations and maintenance services after installation. This end-to-end approach ensures seamless project execution and long-term performance.
The deal further strengthens Suzlon’s position in India’s renewable energy sector, particularly as the country aims to meet ambitious targets for clean energy capacity by 2030. Projects like this are integral to scaling up renewable infrastructure.
The company has expressed confidence in delivering the project within the stipulated timelines while maintaining high quality and performance standards. This aligns with Suzlon’s track record of executing large-scale wind projects across diverse terrains.
The partnership with Zelestra India reflects growing interest from private players in investing in firm renewable solutions. It also indicates rising demand for advanced wind technology that can support consistent power generation.
As a result of this announcement, Suzlon’s shares saw a notable uptick, signaling positive market sentiment and renewed investor confidence in the company’s execution capabilities and strategic direction in the renewable energy landscape.
