In Detail : Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has successfully commissioned a 10 MW captive solar power plant at its facility in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The project has been developed in partnership with AMP Energy India, a leading renewable energy solutions provider.

This solar plant is part of Texmaco Rail’s broader strategy to transition towards sustainable and cost-efficient energy sources. The initiative reflects the company’s growing commitment to reducing its environmental impact while improving operational efficiency.

Developed under the group captive open access model, the plant is expected to generate more than 15 million units of green electricity annually. This will significantly contribute to powering Texmaco’s manufacturing operations with clean energy.

By shifting to solar power, Texmaco Rail anticipates a reduction of over 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. This step aligns with global sustainability targets and India’s renewable energy goals.

Apart from the environmental benefits, the project offers major financial advantages. The company is likely to achieve 30–40% cost savings on electricity, improving its long-term energy affordability and financial sustainability.

The Raipur solar plant will also reduce the company’s dependency on grid electricity, enhancing energy security and operational reliability. This is especially important in energy-intensive manufacturing sectors.

AMP Energy India, which partnered in the development of the project, has emphasized the scalability of such captive solar models for industrial clients across the country. The success of this project could encourage other manufacturing firms to follow suit.

Texmaco Rail’s solar investment is a notable example of industry-led climate action, showcasing how infrastructure and manufacturing companies can play a key role in India’s clean energy transition.
