In Detail : Torrent Power has issued a tender for 200 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) integrated with battery energy storage, along with a greenshoe option for an additional 100 MW.
The tender is open to projects based on solar, wind, or hybrid renewable sources, with the condition that storage systems must be charged entirely from renewable energy.
Power generated under the project must be delivered through the interstate transmission system, ensuring seamless integration into the national grid and meeting firm supply commitments.
Bidders are required to meet stringent technical and financial qualifications, including having a minimum operational or under-development renewable capacity of 100 MW.
The scope includes full project development responsibilities such as land acquisition, grid connectivity, and compliance with weather monitoring and cybersecurity norms.
The power purchase agreement for the awarded projects will have a tenure of 25 years, with penalties imposed for delays and performance shortfalls.
Strict monthly performance criteria mandate meeting at least 75% of both peak and off-peak demand requirements, with financial penalties for any shortfall.
Only proven and MNRE-approved technologies for solar modules and wind turbines will be accepted, ensuring quality and reliability.
