Energy giant Shell is planning to install 10,000 EV charging stations in India by 2030. On Thursday, the company launched its EV chargers in the Indian market for two-wheeler and four-wheeler segments in Bengaluru.

“The company plans to set up more than 10,000 charging points across India by 2030 and aims to provide safe, green, and integrated mobility solutions to its customers through the Shell Recharge Stations,” said the official statement.

Shell is working to set up EV charging points in Bengaluru across the fuel stations, situated in Marathahalli, Brookfield, Kanakapura, Old Madras Road and Yeshwantpur.

Moreover, the company states that it is planning to expand its charging infrastructure beyond the retail markets of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Assam, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Shell will offer customised charging solutions at locations, including standalone EV hubs, Shell fuel stations as well as home charging and destination locations, reads the official statement.

For standalone EV hubs, Shell will set up 100 kW and above DC fast chargers in order to enable fast charging as well as lowest dwell time.

Interested customers will be able to use these chargers via the ‘Shell Recharge India’ app that is available on Android and iOS operating systems both.

“The Shell Recharge proposition is based on unique insights that we picked up in our research and global experience. This enables us to provide safe, green, and integrated mobility solutions to our customers,” said Sanjay Varkey, Director of Shell Mobility, India.
