Infineon To Supply Bare Die Wafers To CDIL For Semiconductor Packaging In India – EQ
In Short : Infineon Technologies will supply bare die wafers to Continental Device India (CDIL) for semiconductor packaging in India. This partnership strengthens India’s semiconductor ecosystem, supports local manufacturing, and reduces import dependence. Aligned with India’s Semiconductor Mission, it enhances supply chain resilience, fosters job creation, and positions India as a key player in the global semiconductor value chain.
In Detail : Chip manufacturer CDIL Semiconductors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infineon Technologies to explore strategic collaboration opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding semiconductor market.
As part of the agreement, Infineon will supply high-performance bare die wafers to CDIL, which will package them into discrete and module semiconductor products tailored for Indian customers. This collaboration is expected to enhance local manufacturing capabilities, ensuring cost-efficient and reliable solutions with significantly reduced lead times.
By integrating advanced technology with localised production, the partnership seeks to support India’s goal of semiconductor self-reliance while contributing to the global supply chain.
“CDIL Semiconductors is proud to collaborate with Infineon Technologies in strengthening India’s position in the global semiconductor value chain. This collaboration is a testament to India’s potential and our expertise in power semiconductor manufacturing. By integrating Infineon’s world-class wafer technology with CDIL’s advanced OSAT capabilities, we are setting new benchmarks in innovation and localisation,” said Pankaj Gulati, President, CDIL.
The partnership is expected to drive innovation across multiple industries, including automotive and mobility, renewable energy, and industrial and consumer applications.
“We are excited to partner up with CDIL to drive growth and innovation in India’s semiconductor ecosystem. Through this collaboration, we will be delivering cutting-edge power semiconductor products and solutions to customers that address the growing needs in e-mobility, renewable energy, and energy-efficient appliances in India,” said Richard Kuncic , Senior Vice President & General Manager Power Systems at Infineon Technologies.
