Sineng Electric Completes NGCP-Witnessed Grid Requirement Test for 99 MWp Tantangan Solar Project in the Philippines – EQ
Tantangan, Philippines — Sineng Electric, in partnership with global solar developer ib vogt, supplied its string inverters to the 99 MWp Tantangan Solar Power Project in South Cotabato, Philippines, and successfully completed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) in accordance with the requirements of the Philippine Grid Code. Witnessed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the test marked a major step toward ensuring grid-ready operation.
For the project, Sineng Electric provided its 350 kW string inverters (SP-350K-HB1), paired with two types of integrated transformer solutions—the ITS-6400-MV and ITS-8960-MV. Together, these solutions are engineered to deliver high efficiency, robust grid support, and long-term reliability.

The NGCP-witnessed FAT verified the stable performance of Sineng inverters across a wide range of grid conditions. The test evaluated key grid-support features, including low- and high-voltage ride-through (LVRT/HVRT), frequency response, voltage regulation, and overall system stability under grid disturbances.
At the core of the project is Sineng’s 350kW string inverter, delivering up to 99% efficiency and equipped with multiple MPPTs to ensure optimal energy harvest. Designed for the local hot, humid, and rain-intensive climate, the inverter features IP66 protection and C5 anti-corrosion rating, enabling reliable operation under demanding environmental conditions.
In addition, the inverter delivers millisecond-level rapid reactive power response, allowing fast grid dispatch and dynamic voltage support—capabilities that are increasingly essential for solar plants operating within modern, flexible power systems.
Once fully operational, the Tantangan Solar Power Project is expected to generate over 150,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 66,000 tonnes per year. The facility will supply energy to power over 62,000 households, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The project also contributes to local employment and aligns with the Philippines’ broader energy transition and decarbonization objectives.
By successfully completing FAT witnessed by NGCP, Sineng Electric reaffirms its ability to deliver grid-ready solar solutions, supporting the country’s transition toward a resilient, secure, and low-carbon energy system.
