Country established 25,000 MW solar power in 2017-18: Minister

New Delhi: Union Minister New and Renewable Energy R K Singh said on Thursday that the government will achieve its targets comfortably and the country has established more than 25,000 Mega Watt of solar power in 2017-18.

Responding to supplementaries during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, Mr Singh said solar energy production in India was the fastest than any other country in the world.

The Minister said the country will achieve its target this year also, he said.

”Solar power capacity of 23,000 MW has installed in the country upto July 2018. Projects upto 10,000 MW are under implementation and tenders for 23,000 MW have been issued,” the Minister said.
