IMFA increases solar power capacity to 4.5 MW at Therubali

Bhubaneswar: Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) commissioned an additional 1.5 MW Solar power plant at its Therubali plant in Rayagada district today.

Vice President ,Corporate Affairs & Legal IMFA Ashok Behera inaugurated the project in the presence of GM, OPTCL and other senior officials from Wesco and CEI.

With the installation of this additional 1.5 MW Solar Power Plant, IMFA’s total solar power generation capacity has now increased to 4.5 MW, which will help in reducing CO2 emission by about 4500 tonnes per/annum.

 Earlier, the company had installed its first solar power plant of 3MW at its Therubali plant site on 21st June 2017 as aninitiative towards reducing carbon footprint.

The entire 4.5 MW solar plant is spread over an area of about 21 acres of land, set up at a cost of Rs 27 crore, the initiative is aimed at addressing REC compliance & the company`s captive use.
