In Detail : Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JdVVNL) has made significant strides in Rajasthan’s clean energy journey by commissioning 841 MW of solar power under the central PM-KUSUM scheme. This development marks a major milestone in the state’s renewable energy landscape, focusing on decentralized solar installations to empower rural communities.
The initiative has directly benefited approximately 4.95 lakh farmers across the region. By adopting solar power for agricultural use, farmers have reduced their dependence on traditional sources of electricity, such as the grid and diesel-powered irrigation systems, leading to both economic and environmental benefits.
Through this effort, JdVVNL has enabled consistent access to power for irrigation, enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability. The move is also aligned with national goals of clean energy transition and rural development through localized power generation.
