In Detail : Baheti Recycling Industries Ltd has announced an investment of ₹3.51 crore to establish a 1.2 MW captive solar power plant at its facility in Gujarat. This initiative marks a significant step toward the company’s commitment to sustainability and clean energy adoption.

The proposed solar installation will be ground-mounted and is expected to be operational by the first quarter of FY2027. It will cater to the internal energy requirements of the company, reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

The company anticipates that the solar plant will result in a 60% reduction in its energy expenses. This is projected to translate into annual savings of approximately ₹1.25 crore, making it a financially viable and environmentally responsible move.

Chairman Shankerlal Shah emphasized that this investment aligns with Baheti Recycling’s long-term strategy of enhancing operational efficiency while meeting its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.

This development also supports the company’s broader plans to expand its capacity, which includes upgrading rotary furnace technology and alloy systems aimed at producing high-quality aluminium for the automotive sector.

Baheti Recycling currently operates across 12 Indian states and exports its products to international markets including the United States, Japan, China, and the UAE. The new solar plant will add value to its global supply chain by integrating sustainability into its production model.

The plant will enable the company to produce cleaner aluminium inputs, especially for applications in die-casting and automotive components, where environmentally friendly materials are increasingly in demand.

By utilizing captive solar power, the company expects to enhance its cost competitiveness and reduce its carbon footprint, making it more resilient to future energy price volatility and regulatory changes.

Overall, this project underscores Baheti Recycling’s strategic direction toward sustainable growth by investing in renewable energy and modernizing its infrastructure for long-term operational benefits.
