Amplus will provide over 1.4 Mw of solar power to 12 bigbasket outlets spread across Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu

New Delhi: Rooftop solar power company, Amplus Energy Solutions, on Wednesday said it has partnered with online grocery retailer, bigbasket, for providing clean and green energy at its outlets in India.

According to the company release, Amplus will provide over 1.4 megawatt peak (Mwp) of solar power to 12 bigbasket outlets spread across Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Through this, bigbasket aims to generate 310,64,120 units of green electricity, which would help in reducing its carbon dioxide emissions by 29,440 metric tonnes for a tenure of 20 years.

“For us, adopting solar power was always a natural choice for not just reducing our energy costs but also to ensure our carbon footprint is offset by this initiative,” said Ramesh V S, co-founder, bigbasket.

The chief executive officer and managing director of Amplus Solar, Sanjeev Aggarwal, said that this deal would set the benchmark for other companies in the segment to follow environmentally conscious way for growth.

Currently, Amplus is working on an additional 200-plus Mw of open access solar parks in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
