A single solar project totaling nearly half a gigawatt leverages advanced bifacial solar tracking technology.

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Array Technologies has been chosen to supply its award-winning DuraTrack HZ v3 as the tracker of choice for a project consisting of almost half a gigawatt. Once fully operational, the solar plant featuring bifacial solar modules will be able to generate over 1 TWh annually and avoid the emission of over 800,000 million tons of CO2 per year.

“Our engineering team worked closely with our partners to optimize site design and components to supply the most advanced bifacial tracking solution available while remaining committed to providing our customers with the highest yields in both energy production and financial returns,” states Lucas Creasy, vice president of engineering at Array Technologies. “Our industry-leading 100-module rows coupled with bifacial module technology result in higher power capacity for the entire system.”

Array’s significant experience combined with an innovative bifacial solution suited to the challenges of this massive project are a winning combination to achieve the lowest LCOE to the site owners. “Array is honored to be selected to supply single-axis solar trackers to this unprecedented bifacial project,” said Jim Fusaro, CEO of Array Technologies. Construction has already broken ground, and over the course of two years, over half a million bifacial modules will be configured in rows 100 modules wide.

Array’s DuraTrack HZ v3 offers revolutionary features found nowhere else in the solar industry, including a single-bolt per module clamp allowing for rapid installation. Serving as the backbone of solar plants around the world, Array’s single-axis solar trackers are designed to withstand harsh desert environments and high wind speeds with a patented wind-mitigation system which does not rely on complex communications systems, batteries, or power. Array’s commitment to reliability and durability are underscored by engineered simplicity and zero scheduled maintenance allowing the project to deliver the best levelized cost of electricity.
