In Short : Asahi India Glass and INOX Air Products have jointly signed a 20-year agreement. This collaboration signifies a long-term commitment between the two companies, potentially spanning various areas such as supply chain management, technology sharing, or product development, contributing to mutual growth and success.

In Detail : This deal drives down carbon emissions and boosts renewable energy reliance.

Asahi India Glass (AIS) and INOX Air Products (INOXAP) are forging a pioneering partnership with a 20-year agreement for the off-take of Green Hydrogen at AIS’s Chittorgarh Plant. This collaboration marks a significant step towards sustainability in the glass production industry, with INOXAP’s first Green Hydrogen Plant set to supply 95 TPA to AIS in Phase 1. When the plant commissions in July 2024, it will run solely on solar energy, thereby cutting down on carbon emissions by 1250 MT annually.

AIS’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its investment in green energy sources, aiming to power 94 per cent of its Soniyana Float Glass facility with renewable energy. Rupinder Shelly, COO-Architectural Glass at AIS, emphasises the company’s dedication to a greener future, supported by collaborations like this.

Siddharth Jain, Managing Director of INOX Air Products, expresses pride in this partnership, highlighting its role in India’s energy transition towards decarbonisation. This initiative not only aligns with India’s national goals but also underscores the companies’ shared vision for a sustainable future.
